28/1/2012 - CACIB Mouscron (B) - Judge: R. Feyaerts (B)

Mouscron show was for us the occassion to meet again  some "French" McBirdy": Ioutou of McBirdy (owner Aude Faucon), Dundee and Kells of McBirdy (owners Alain & Thérèse Roland).
It was the first show for Kells of McBirdy and a first success: 1st Very Beloved and in the afternoon on the main ring, 2nd Best Baby in Show (judge was Mr. R. Irving -UK)
Kells is a puppy very level-headed, feeling at ease everywhere and with a very elegant movement: Well done Kells and congratulations for Alain & Thérèse !

In open class dogs, Ioutou of McBirdy (brother of Idgie) is placed 3rd Exc. Aude understood that in Belgium handling is more important than in France and show training is needed ! It's a pity because after some gromming alterations, Ioutou shows a lot of qualities.

In champion class dog, Fletcher of McBirdy is placed 2nd Exc and get after the res.CAC/CACIB. Dundee of McBirdy is placed 3rd Exc.

In Champion bitch, Idgie de McBirdy is placed 1st Exc, but without obtaining more qualifications.
Idgie has presented again the same problem that on previous shows: as soon as she slipped on ground, this made her feel very tense and her movement came erratic. It is a point to be corrected.

15/1/2012 - First time out "into the wild" for Keilynn of McBirdy (5 months)

We took avantage of the nice weather this week-end to take along little Keilynn to the hunting grounds, be accompained with Keann and Idgie.

Keann make huge progress as hunter: he has got a very good nose, a powerful galopp and his pointings are more and more steady. He flushed out few pheasants with Idgie Idgie and little Keilynn was very interested to see them in work.

Keilynn is very happy into the wild, very curious about everything. She has got a nice golopp and her movement is very elegant. A lot of promisings !

A good start in 2012 for McBirdy.

This first week-end 2012 was busy, but profitable in success !

7/1/2012 - CACIB Hoogstraten (B) – Judge : Per Iversen (N0)

27 irish setters were entered at this first show in Belgium !
. Fletcher of McBirdy is placed 3rd Ex in a fleshy champion class (5 enters)
. Idgie of McBirdy      is placed 2nd Ex also in champion class and got after the res. CAC/CACIB behind Irish Lady Ireleith (also from Sumaric Shadow of Mr. Jingles 's line). The norway judge confessed he met difficulies to decide between those very nice bitches.

8/1/2012 – CAC Essen (D) – Judge : Rolf Blessing (D)

Also a good turnout at this first show CAC of the year in Germany (46 red irish setters were entered with 32 bitches !) . Idgie of McBirdy is placed
1 Ex (VDH) in a fleshy working class (5 enters). The judge drawn up a nice report. She got after the res. CAC, again behind Irish Lady Ireleith.
But this time, during the final tour, Idgie slipped on the ground and didn't regain her movement easily.
Again no chance !

This is the 4th VDH certificat got on 3 participations in Germany. More, Idgie, on top the VDH tickets, obtained each time after a nice result :
- Rheinberg (February 2011)  1 Ex - VDH        + res.CAC/CACIB
- Dortmund (May 2011)         1 Ex - VDH (x2)  + CAC/CACIB – Europasiegerin
- Essen (January 2012)          1 Ex – VDH        + res. CAC

It only remains for Idgie to get a last VDH ticket after February 2012 (you have to wait one year between the first and the last VDH ticket) pour aspire to get the tittle VDH Champion (German Champion).
