9/11/2008 - Junior Day ISCL (NL) - Judges: Camilla Östman (S) & Rieky Van Hal (NL)

Ch. Fletcher of McBirdy: Best Dog - R. Best in Show.

I feel good, ! So good ! So good ...
Yes, I'm so proud for my breeders who have always thought the best about me !

This day didn't get well in the begining. The young boys Haeton & Glen were not placed, none the pretty girl Gracelynn.
So, I thought I must put the pressure to win. I had to be an honour to the clan !
And when I heard my mistress crying "Fly Fletcher, Fly" (not run, run.. because I'm not Fletcher The Seagull !), I was beside myself, I was like a bird flying over the ring.
I really like running and I feel in my own world. And I did it ! I won my class and after I was confirmed Best Dog !

But in the final tour, she came in front. Wow... a so lovely girl, a Lady ! As soon as I felt in love with her. It was love at first sight !
During the last run, I thought only one thing: to be with her. The show didn't count anymore. And when we stopped, I couldn't stop jumping her !
Yes, she had to win, a so beautiful girl. I hope to see you soon Lady Olily, I love you..

Ch. Fletcher of McBirdy

PS:Thanks to Camilla Östman, this judge from Sweden. I know she likes me for my splendid movement ("A pleasure to watch on the move").
Thanks also to friends and breeders who congratulated me,... and Aleksandra for this nice picture.

19/7/2008 -  CACIB Liège - Juge C. Faverty (IRL) -  Ch. Fletcher of McBirdy res. CAC/CACIB

Good results for McBirdy:
. Junior class: Glen of McBirdy is placed 2nd Exc
. Open class: Ch. Fletcher of McBirdy is placed 1st Exc in a rich open class (7 entries) and obtains then res. CAC/CACIB. The Irish judge Mr. Faverty appreciated Fletcher a lot. He missed the CACIB by little, but it is the game…

13/7/2008: Field Trial Training at Bertinchamps

In a few weeks, Summer Field Trial will begin. It is thus the moment to begin training. Frisbee off McBirdy continues her progression. It is certain, she have flair, much of endurance and a true passion for hunting. It remains to control her ardour at the time of the take-off.
Gracelynn of McBirdy also took her first steps. She has a very fast gallop and has a good endurance.

22/6/2008 - CACIB Brussels Dog Show - Judge: Mr. Rui Oliveira (P)

Splendid double of both McBirdy's juniors Glen & Girly Girl: they win both the class junior. They are now both 'BELGIAN JUNIOR WINNER'  and qualified for Cruft' S 2009. Glen becomes then Best Junior.
Mom Chickadee (CH. Chickadee off McBirdy) and dad Dooley (Jonala Dr. Doolittle) like grandmother Ch. Yuelynn of McBirdy can be proud the their juniors.
Cheer with Charlotte Godart for this new success of her well beloved Girly.
As for Fletcher, he is placed 4th Exc in open class. He was still youngest of his class but his beautifull gail enable him to be placed in the final quartet.

15/6/2008 - CAC Country Dog Show Namur (B) - Juge: Mrs. Delvaux (B)

Glen of McBirdy is placed 1 Exc in the Junior class and 4th best junior in the main ring. Glen gently becomes all more mature in statics; it remains to him to perfect his running. He however has a very good potential for the future.
When in Fletcher, he is placed 4th Exc for its first entry in open class.

Glen of McBirdy - 14 months

9/6/2008 - CC "Three Counties" show UK - Juge: Mrs. M. Hillocks (UK)

For her first entry in England, Girly Girl of McBirdy obtained a splendid result: placed 3rd in the Junior Junior, with good competitors !
She is thus qualified for Cruft's 2009.
Congratulations Charlotte for this beautiful success which should bring others. Big kisses to Girly!

8/6/2008 - CACIB France Championship - Lyon - Judge: Mr. Sean Delmar (IRL)

Fletcher is classified 2nd Exc in working class. Mr. Delmar had attracted the entries (37 Irishs) including 5 dogs and 4 bitches in working class.
Obviously we endured the same discussions concerning the size and the morphology of Irish Setter with the 'fundamentalists' people from Red Club of France, which in addition collected a beautiful harvest of “Very good” and “Good” for their 'beautiful' dogs.
Main results:

When they understand that the truth is between the two extremes and that each one ('shows' breeders and 'working' breeders) must make a part of the way towards the others for finally being able to obtain goods and beautiful dogs. But by then ......

The day after, I could visit our friends Jean-Claude and Francine Baulard in Dorans to see Gypsie McBirdy (Girly Girl's sister). Gypsy is very happy. She could meet Fletcher and run with him in the orchard. She kept the expression and the beautiful head of her Chickadee mom and her Yuelynn grandmother.

01/06/2008

No dogs show this week-end. A occasion to keep in touch with wild nature and for Glen of McBirdy to discover some talents for hunting ducks.

25/05/2008 - CAC Bennekom (NL): judge: Mrs. V. Medvedec (CRO)

A second CAC junior for Girly Girl of McBirdy! This time, Girly does better than her mom Chickadee. Placed 1 Exc in the junior class (5 entries), she obtains her second CAC junior. As for Chickadee of McBirdy, she is placed 4 Exc in champion class (6 entries). Congratulations to Charlotte, but also with Alexsandra for the showing of Girly Girl.

Girly Girl of McBirdy

A very a good result for Chickadee's return in the Netherlands: she is placed 2nd Exc in Campion class !
As for Girly Girl, she obtains excellent, unfortunately without classification.
Congratulations for Charlotte for the perfect showing of her two pretty girls.
Our friends Willem & Aleksandra Lauwers again obtained splendid results with their famous duet of dogs: Mr. Jingles & Dooley.
Jingles obtains 1 Exc in Open class, to then obtain the CC and the title of better dog. As for Dooley, he is classified 3rd Exc, also in Open class ! Our young McBirdy's are again very proud of their dads! Congratulations Wim & Aleksandra !

12/5/2008 - CACIB Sarrebrücken (D) - Juge: Mrs. H. Ahrens (A)

Again good results in Germany today, and this time, it is Frisbee which goes ahead of Fletcher! She finishes finally her series of second places by wining an intermediate class of quality. She obtains to then res. CAC/CACIB. The judge particularly appreciated her splendid head and her movement. Here thus 3 tickets VDH in expos CACIB.

When Fletcher, he is placed 2 Exc in working class

2/5/2008 - CACIB Europasieger Dortmund (D) - Judges Mr. & Mrs. Kips (Lux)

Fletcher keeps going in Germany. By obtaining one 1 Exc in working class, he obtains 2 VDH tickets for the championship in Germany. On four shows in Germany, he thus already obtained the necessary tickets  to get the title. Unfortunately, the rules stipulates that it takes one year between the first ticket and the last one. Fletcher must thus wait until January 2009; but it will be for another time !

As for her sister Frisbee, she keeps going her series of second places! It is in spite of very interesting because to Dortmud, one res. VDH is equivalent to a VDH ticket.
That thus makes two tickets for Frisbee. We must admit that Frisbee took a few superfluous kilos this winter and now a diet is necessary.

26/4/2008 - CAC Genk (B) - Judge: Mrs. L. Van Genechten (B)

New good performances for our two boys: Glen obtains  2nd Exc in junior class. It remains to him to be a little less inattentive to improve its runnings. Successes approach!
As for Feltcher, he obtains  1st Exc in intermediate class, to then collect to the res. CAC in front of the first dog of open class. Ah, what a style in the ring!
Congratulations boys!

Fletcher of McBirdy - Genk 2008 - Res. CAC

Thereafter, with his young handler Boris Wiesen, Fletcher passed by the various stages of selection of the contest of junior handling to join Boris on the first step of podium. Our congratulations Boris for this success and thank you for your kindness. With Fletcher, you are a beautiful duet on main ring.
So long Boris.

And finally, a SMS from our friends Wim & Aleksandra Lauwers coming from England informs us of incredible news: Sumaric Shadow of Mr. Jingles (Jingles) is now SHOW CHAMPION (SH. CH.).

What a crazy week: two C.C in the tread! What a success!
Without forgetting Dooley (Jonola Dr. Doolittle) which obtains the first place in the  “Graduate” class
Definitely dads of Fletcher, Frisbee, Girly Girl and Glen emphasize themselves. Our young boys and girls are obviously very proud of their famous dads.

13/4/2008 - CACIB Antwerp (B) - Juge: Mrs. A. Pokorn (SLO)

A good performance for our two young boys at a show with a good entries (34 Irish Red Setters).

Beeing placed first Excellent in working class at Luxemburg International Show, Fletcher obtains the second CACL enabling him to aspire to get the tittle 'LUXEMBURG CHAMPION'.
At only 22 month, it is a first title for our young boy.  Congratulations Fletcher, we are really proud of you!

Ch. Fletcher of McBirdy

As for Girly Girl, she really missed by very little the first place in junior class. She was retained 1st until the last round. No chance!

23/3/2008 - Training for Field Trials

In spite of an execrable weather of this Easter week-end, Cheyenn and Frisbee were involved to seek pheasants. Cheyenn as a senior instructor shows the way with her daughter Frisbee. And progress becomes obvious. This Sunday our bitches pointed a beautiful cock pheasant and 6 hens !

22/3/2008 - CAC La Louvière (B) - Judge: Mr. J. De Cuyper (B)

First show for our pretty Gracelynn of McBirdy (Sumaric Shadow off Mr. Jingles X CH. Yuelynn off McBirdy). She behaved very well and felt very at ease in the ring. The judge enjoyed her a lot. But in the main ring, obviously the judge preferred toys dogs.
As for our two boys, Fletcher is placed 1 Exc, but does not succeed in obtaining the CC or res. CC, and Glen is placed 2 Exc in the Junior class.
Results thus mitigated, but with the number of 'Very Good' attribuated (near 50%), we have to say results are excellents !

1/3/2008 - Traning Day for Field Trial

On the initiative of the Belgian Club of Irish Setter, a trainig Day had been organized this weekend. It was the last meeting of the hunting lessons organized this winter in collaboration with R. & C. Laurencin of the Belgian Club of Weimar Pointer. Fortunately, the weather was fine, because to spend all a day outsite eraly March it's not exactly a rest cure.
Many dogs showed beautiful qualities, proof that the lessons of Raymond Laurencin indeed were comparable. We will see certainly much more Irish setters in Field this year (red and red and white!) Large a thank you with Ronny for his splendid photos available on the following link:

 http://picasaweb.google.be/RonnyNancy31/Veldwerk132008?authkey=dTniWHpjivU

It was the occasion to see in action our young Glen McBirdy (11 months), and for a first contact on Field, our last puppies Gracelynn & Gatsby of McBirdy (6 months).

Fletcher of McBirdy

As for Tulssye du Cap de l'Emeraude, the splendid bitch of our friend Philippe Deram, she joins again with success by gaining the champion class with 1st Exc, to then obtain the CAC/CACIB, the BOB. Then, icing on the cake, she gains the BOG.
Tulssye shows thus that she  returns to the SIGNAL, after being given slowly of its last range. Good Philippe continuation

A splendid weather and an extra atmosphere for this day of training for in Fields organized by The Belgian Setter Gordon Club, with a French participation. Cécilia Guiot and her father had made a long journey to participate to this splendid day.
It was an occasion to put off our small last “Gracelynn McBirdy” in the presence of some quails and to thus make knowledge with game (which astonishment to be in front of this funny toy!) and also to take some photographs

5/1/2008 - CACIB Hoogstraeten (B) - Judge: Mr. Hickey Gerry (IRL) - Fletcher of McBirdy: CAC/CACIB

A splendid start for 2008! After having obtained one 1st Exc in a large intermediate class (6 dogs entered), Fletcher obtains the CAC/CACIB for its first show in intermediate class in Belgium. He proves thus that its title of “Junior dog of the year 2007” is not usurped.
A beautiful showcase for our young Fletcher for this show of Hoogstraeten which is traditionally the occasion to celebrate the best dogs of the previous year.
