20.5.2007 - CACIB Namur (B) - Judge: L. Pichard (CH)
One more,
good results for our juniors Fletcher & Frisbee. Fletcher obtains
1st Exc in a high level junior class, with the praises of judge
Laurent Pichard.
Unfortunately, on the ground very slipping of the hall, Dundee
slipped at the beginning of his course and did not find its
insurance in its step.
As for Cheyenn, she obtains a new res. CAC/CACIB (they accumulate,
but they will be useful later for her Belgium Champion tittle)

As for our veterans,
Ch.Yuelynn of McBirdy and Yorkey of McBirdy, they proved they had
kept all their prestige. They reformed the talented couple of antan
by obtaining the title of Best Couple Irish setter, and then Best
Couple of the Show. Then, with Cheyenn, Frisbee and Fletcher, they
also obtained the challenge of the Best Group of the show. CH.
Yuelynn of McBirdy obtains the Challenge of the Best Veteran of the
Show.

Championnat de France Montluçon - Judge: Mr. Goubie (F)
A long trip to attend to the France
Championship in Montlucon, and to meet again our friends Arlette and
Jean-Marc Velay.
The results are good, but it is an obviousness: it is practically
impossible for a foreign dog to obtain the CACS at this championship!
I really appreciated the whistles and disapproval of the public (it
is a rather rare fact that to be underlined) when the judge decreed
the CACS with a typically French working dog, in front of our
Cheyenn, however presented in working class.
According to the rules of the French Centrale Canine, Cheyenn will
be able however to recover the CACS if the title of Champion of
France were not approved in the 2 years by the dog that it obtained
it.
As for Frisbee, she obtains her qualification for Cruft's in 2008
and the title of Best Junior.
About this polemic working dog/show dog, it would be time for the
committee of Red Club to re-examine traditional studies on the
heritability of qualities of work (it is proven that one reaches
hardly 20 PC of transmission). On the other hand, it is also proven
that a dog of a show line, put in regular presence of game and
involved well, can obtain good results in work. It appears perfectly
clear that it is much easier to obtain a good dog starting from a
beautiful dog than the reverse. It becomes almost absurd to estimate,
on a show ring, that an Irish setter has qualities of work according
to the thickness and the length of its ears!
As, friends of the
Red Club, continue in the way as you traced yourselves: the quality
of the breeding of the Irish setter is with lowest in France and
soon, you will even remain a very small circle closed again on him,
which will continue with glorifier of the results obtained in main
breeding shows and France Championships, in which you will be the
only ones to take part!

Splendid Weekend for McBirdy: CH. Dundee of McBirdy wins the
Mediterranean Trophy.
After having obtained CAC
+ BOB at Avignon show (F) last week, Dundee supplements his
Mediterranean week by winning the CACIB at Monaco show and the CACIB
at San Remo show the following day. Thanks to the whole of his
results, Dundee thus gains the Mediterranean Trophy decreed to the
dog which obtained the best results on the three showq of Avignon
(F), Monaco and San Remo (I)
A great cheer with our Champion Dundee and his owners Alain and
Therese Roland, who defend the name of McBirdy on the most level

Fletcher & Frisbee
were classified Best Irish Setters Couple
On the ring of honor, our juniors Fletcher & Frisbee were retained
like 2nd Best Couple in Show.
Then, Fletcher, Frisbee and their mom. Ch.Cheyenn of McBirdy were
classified 3rd Best Group in Show.
6/4/2007
Lastly, we have a good picture of Fletcher in show standing.
Fletcher is not easy to present for the moment. There remains work
to be made!
According to the praises of Wim and Aleksandra, owners of Sumaric
Shadow of Mr. Jingles (Jingles) and of Mrs. Sue Morris, the breeder
of Jingles, our Fletcher should become a “ace”. It is obviously our
dearer wish: that he follows in his dad's footsteps .
The comment of Sue Morris:
Oh my bloody my ......! He is gorgeous!!!

Fletcher of McBirdy, 10 months
1/4/2007
The day after,
Ch.Cheyenn of Mcbirdy passes from the shows to Field Trials. It is
what makes her charm.
Unfortunately a strong East wind did not facilitate the task of the
dogs and the few young partridge couples available on the ground
preceded the dogs and took their take-off. The contest thus finished
without classification

Ch. Cheyenn of McBirdy
pointing a couple of partridges
We had also taken
along Frisbee of McBirdy, so that she take the mood of the Field
Trial competitions. And it was perfect. She will follow the
footsteps of her mom Cheyenn of McBirdy.
She showed the fantastic qualities of gallop, immortalized by our
friend Charlotte. Splendid photographs
Ch.Chickadee of
McBiirdy had also joined the fan club and also had fun on the ground
and had benefitted from the sun.
The time decreases. Chickadee is in perfect condition. There remain
to us 10 days to be had patience for the dropping.

LUXEMBOURG SHOW: CHEYENN OF McBIRDY is Luxembourg Champion !
Judge: Mr. H. Fryckstrand (S)
After having obtained
the title of Germany Champion, our Cheyenn obtains the title of
Luxembourg Champion (1st EXC - CACL ).
We had also with us, as a visitor in order to accustom her to the
great shows, her daughter Frisbee of McBirdy. She was very proud
about results of her mom and her dad Sumaric Shadow of Mr. Jingles
who after the CACL in open class, obtains the CACIB, then the BOB,
and then 2nd of group 7. Well Done Jingles !

Cheyenn of McBirdy thus obtains her first CAC in Belgium. Still a
CAC, or an res. CAC and Cheyenn will be able to pretend for the
title of Belgium Champion.
It is obviously for us a goal, in order to add this important title
to the Cheyenn's prize list.
As for Frisbee of McBirdy, Cheyenn's daugther, she began well the
year by obtaining the title 'Best Junior' after having obtained 1st
Exc in Junior class.
Thank you to Charlotte Godart for the perfect handling of Cheyenn.
CAC
LEVERKUSEN (D) - Judge: Mr. R. Kuklick (D)
During this
time, Noëlla, accompanied by our friends Patrick & Sonia Gregoire,
went to the show of Leverkusen with Eilenn of McBirdy.
And there too it was a success. Eilenn obtains its second VDH ticket
by obtaining 1st Exc in intermediate class.
And in comparison with the significant number of “VERY GOOD”
allotted by Mr. Kuklick, it is undoubtedly about a very good result,
more especially as she obtains a very eulogistic report.
10/3/2007 - CACIB Offenburg (D) - Judge: Mrs. S. Osterwalder (CH)
A long
voyage, but a good harvest!
- Dundee of McBirdy obtains its 4th ticket VDH by obtaining 1 Exc in
Champion class (5 enters) and then the res. CAC/CACIB.
- Eileen of McBirdy obtains her 1first VDH ticket in
intermediate class.
8/3/2007 - Cruft' S 2007
Noëlla and
Charlotte accompanied our friends Willem & Aleksandra Lauwers in
Birmingham like “fan club” by Jingles (Sumaric Shadow off Mr.
Jingles) and Dooley (Jonola Dr. Doolittle).
And the dads of our pups Frisbee and Fletcher, and of our future
pups (pups of Chickadee) obtained excellent results:
Class “Dogs
Yearling” (24 enters) Jonola Dr. Doolittle
4th place
Class “Graduate Dogs” (26 enters) Sumaric
Shadow of Mr. Jingles 2nd place
Dooley's brother(Jonola Stardom At Lindallock (JW) obtained the
first place in the class “Dogs Yearling”, and of Frisbee and
Fletcher's grandfather, and dad of Jingles, Thendara Don Corleone,
obtained the title of better Irish Setter dog (DC) (for the 3rd
time) and then the title of better Irish Setter (BOB) for the second
time.
We hope
obviously that our pups will follow the example of their famous
parents.
Well done Jingles & Dooley and congratulations to Wim & Aleksandra
for to their beautiful dogs.

24-25/2/2007 - A weekend of
dream - Chickadee of McBirdy is CHAMPION !!
It was
one tiring but profitable weekend. Which beautiful surprises
reserved by our Chickadee for her last shows before the birth of the
pups:
Saturday 24/2/7 - CACIB Hoogstraten
(B) - Judge: Mrs. L. Nousiainen (FIN).
After having obtained
one 1st EXC in open class, Chickadee obtains the CAC/CACIB and then
the BOB by outclassing the best dog Ch. Ardan of Funny Home !
The judge, Mrs.
Nousiainen, was very happy to have devoted both better setters of
the year 2006 in Belgium.
Hoogstraten is by
tradition the show where best setters of the year are celebrated. It
was thus the occasion to celebrate successes of Chickadee with our
many friends.

Sunday
25/2/7 - CAC Rheinberg (D) - Judge: Mrs. A. Pokorn (SLO)
This Sunday morning,
us here are left again for Germany, while hoping to take down last
VDH ticket necessary to obtaining the title of VDH Champion .
And here also,
Chickadee held a surprise for us. After having obtained his VDH
ticket in champion class, Chickadee obtains the CAC (best bitch).
Here is thus our Chickadee VDH.Champion!

It is
a beautiful dedication for Charlotte Godart, her mistress, for all
the attentions devoted to the development of our Chickadee.
For us, it is also the
dedication in the follow-up of this splendid line of bitches of the
Lordly breeding line of our friends Jean & Rita Struyf-With Groof.
Ch. Chickadee of
McBirdy fits thus in the continuation of this line of champions: Ch.
Yuelynn of McBirdy - Ch. Lordly Unci - Ch. Lordly Rumpypumpy - Ch.
Lordly Lovey-Dovey - Ch. Tenderlove Kizzy van of Westerhuy - Ch.
Westerhuy' s Sea Minstrel.
CH. Chickadee now will
devote the next months to ensure the changing. Because undoubtedly,
combination of Ch. Chickadee of McBirdy and Jonala Dr. Doolittle (Dooley),
of our friends Willem & Aleksandra Lauwers, should give splendid
pups , ready to ensure the continuity of this splendid line.
The
continuation in a few weeks, ........

3/2/2007
- CACIB Eindhoven (NL) - Chickadee of McBirdy - 1 EXC in Open class
(7 bitches) - Judge: Mr. T. Creamer (IRL)
A good result for the first show 2007 of Chickadee of McBirdy.
Unfortunately, she misses a ticket for Netherland Champion tittle.
It will be also her last show in Holland this year since the mating with Jonola Dr. Doolittle (Dooley) is expected this week.
27/1/2007 - Yendal of McBirdy died this night.

We learned with stupor the sad news this morning by an e-mail from our friends Jean-Marc and Arlette Velay: Yendal is died on Friday evening of the after-effects of a surgical operation resulting from a bloat, on the way towards the show of Montpellier to which it was to take part.
It is again the problem to find a qualified vet during the weekend which is posed.
We join painful sadness our friends, convinced that Yendal would be still in life if it had been able to profit from the services of a conscientious veterinary surgeon. Because Yendal was restored after the intervention, but it seems that deplorable conditions of hygiene, and a very bad medical follow-up did not give to Yendal all the chances to be left there.
Yendal will remain in our memories because he was a particular dog for us: he resulted from our first litter, was the first McBirdy setter exported, and was also, with his brother Yorkey and his sister Yuelynn, an exceptional representative for our breeding, with a very enviable prize list: 13 CACIB, 15 CAC, 2 res. CACIB, 3 res. CAC, 15 BOB, 2 X BOG 7 and prize winner of the France Championship 2005 in Lyon.
Goodbye Yendal and good courage with Jean-Marc and Arlette.
